ECORES WIND Research Showcased at ECCM22

ECORES WIND research featured prominently at the ECCM22 – European Conference on Composite Materials in Oslo, with contributions from researchers at Politecnico di Milano.

Giulia Altamura presented a poster entitled “Catalyst-free biobased epoxy vitrimer for glass fiber-reinforced composites”, highlighting the development of a catalyst-free, bio-based vitrimer resin for recyclable glass fibre-reinforced composites. The work demonstrates how sustainable resin systems can combine high performance with reprocessability and chemical recyclability, supporting the transition towards more circular composite materials.

The conference also featured an oral presentation by Valeria De Fabritiis, entitled “Mild, universal and flexible catalyst-assisted solvolysis for circular recycling of fiber-reinforced polymers”. Her work presents an efficient solvolysis approach for recovering high-quality fibres from composite materials under mild conditions, advancing scalable recycling solutions for fibre-reinforced polymers.
