Applus+ Rescoll: Circular Bonding Solutions for Wind Energy

Applus+ Rescoll (RSC) is an innovative French SME and a member of the APPLUS+ international group, specializing in the research and development of polymer-based solutions for industrial applications. Its expertise spans composites, resins, adhesives, coatings and surface treatments, as well as related fields such as bonded assemblies, fire behavior and environmentally friendly technologies.

With more than 45% of its activity dedicated to the aerospace sector, Applus+ Rescoll has built a strong reputation in high-performance materials, supported by over 40 patents in polymers and composites. The company operates ISO 17025 and NADCAP accredited laboratories and offers advanced capabilities in polymer formulation, mechanical and vibroacoustic testing, non-destructive evaluation, fire testing, thermo-mechanical analysis, spectrometry, chromatography, surface analysis and accelerated ageing.

A core strength of Applus+ Rescoll lies in the development of advanced surface coating and bonding technologies. Through extensive national and European projects, the company has gained significant experience in debondable adhesion systems, including its patented INDAR INSIDE technology, which has already been applied in sectors such as automotive and textiles.

Within the ECORES-WIND project, Applus+ Rescoll is responsible for developing a new range of dedicated bonding systems for wind turbine blades. These systems combine the INDAR debondable primer with adhesives commonly used in the wind energy sector, enabling efficient bonding during use while allowing controlled debonding at end of life—an essential step toward more circular and sustainable wind energy solutions.
