ECORES WIND presented at SUSMATx 2026 in Madrid

The ECORES WIND project was represented at SUSMATx 2026, the international conference dedicated to sustainable matrices for structural composites, held on 3–4 September 2026 at the CSIC headquarters in Madrid, Spain.

The conference was organised by ECORES WIND project partner ICTP-CSIC and chaired by Raquel Verdejo (ICTP-CSIC), together with Daniel Sánchez Rodríguez (University of Girona), Sara Keiko Murase Fernández (Eurecat), and Alice Mija (Université Côte d’Azur).

During the conference, Sandra Niembro from ONYRIQ and Elena Segura Moreno from Fidamc presented the ECORES WIND project, highlighting its approach to developing next-generation circular resin systems for wind turbine blade applications and its contribution to more sustainable composite materials.

Other partners of the ECORES WIND consortium also represented the project throughout the event, including FIDAMC and ICTP-CSIC. Their participation provided valuable opportunities to share the project’s objectives and progress with researchers, innovators, and industry experts working towards more sustainable and circular composite materials.

SUSMATx 2026 brought together an international community focused on emerging sustainable matrix technologies, including bio-based thermosets, vitrimers, covalent adaptive networks, depolymerizable polymers, and high-performance thermoplastics – areas closely aligned with the research and innovation ambitions of ECORES WIND.

The event offered an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge, exploring synergies, and discussing the role of innovative resin systems in enabling a more circular future for composite materials and the wind energy sector.

We would like to thank ICTP-CSIC and the SUSMATx 2026 organising team for bringing together such an inspiring community, and all consortium partners who contributed to representing ECORES WIND at the event.
