GAIKER, a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), is a renowned Technology Centre located in the Technological Park of Bizkaia, Spain. Since its foundation in 1985, GAIKER has been dedicated to delivering innovative technological solutions to companies across a wide range of sectors, including environment, chemistry, recycling, transport, and construction.
With a strong track record of more than 2,400 R&D projects, GAIKER specialises in areas such as Sustainable Composites 4.0, Functional and Sustainable Polymers, Recycling and Circular Economy, and Biotechnology. In addition to its R&D activities, the Centre provides advanced technological services, laboratory analysis, and certification testing, all backed by a highly qualified team of over 100 professionals and state-of-the-art equipment.
As a key partner in the ECORES-WIND project, GAIKER contributes its extensive knowledge and capabilities in sustainable materials and circular economy. The Centre is involved in several core activities, including materials characterisation, optimisation of manufacturing processes, and the development of end-of-life (EoL) strategies for wind energy components.
GAIKER’s participation ensures the integration of environmentally responsible solutions in the wind energy sector, aligning with the project’s broader mission to support a more sustainable and circular European economy.
